About:
Dr Marguerite Thomas is a final term GP Registrar completing a fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She holds a Masters of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts-Psychology (Honours Class 1) and previously worked in public health policy and research prior to completing her Doctor of Medicine. She undertook her hospital training years at Gosford and Wyong Hospitals.
Marguerite has particular interests in women’s health, children’s health, sexual and reproductive health. She enjoys providing holistic care for her patients. She is passionate about the social determinants of health and in the way that environmental, social and political contexts shape health. She has published research in the areas of perinatal health, tobacco control and food policy. She is a strong advocate for evidence based medicine and aims to practice medicine in line with scientifically validated standards.
Outside of work Marguerite enjoys spending time chasing after her two young boys on the beach.
